Marché d’Aligre (Paris)
Le Marche Rue D’Aligre
Rue d’Aligre from rue Crozatier to rue de Charenton, 12th arr.
Tuesday to Sunday 8am to 1:30pm
(see pp. 155-161 of Markets of Paris, 2nd ed.)
This market actually combines three markets in one: a pedestrian street market that runs along rue d’Aligre (Le Marché rue d’Aligre), an historic covered market at the center (Le Marché Couvert Beauvau), and a flea market that spreads out behind the square at place d’Aligre.
All three can easily be covered in the same outing. It’s a cinch to get to this market from anywhere you might be staying in Paris (a short stroll from the Ledru-Rollin Métro stop), but it feels like a world apart from markets in the very center of the city.
There are numerous good restaurants and a fun wine bar nearby, ready to offer refreshment after shopping.
